Michael Anderson, Grand Rapids, MISPC

Michael Anderson is currently in the Army National Guard and is deployed to northern Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Michael is originally from Colorado and is an Infantryman with Charlie Company 1-125th. Michael is engaged to Sarah Wiles (Three Rivers, MI) and they reside in Grand Rapids.

Military is in Michael’s blood, even though I was hoping that his unit wouldn’t get called up, I support all the men and woman who serve for our freedom. He is my Hero and I love him and support him 110%.

Michael Anderson, MISPCMy mother just told me about this site the other day and although I am from Grand Rapids, I frequently am returning home and look forward to becoming more involved in your amazing organization. Surprisingly our FRG (Family Readiness Group) isn’t very active with the families and I would love to help out this organization anyway that I can.

Thank you,
Sarah Wiles

Thomas Kotz- Goodenough, Three Rivers, MI

Jay,

Dennis Allen was walking around our neighborhood and he just happened to knock on our door. I believe it was a sign for the God, because my husband and I have been struggling with missing our Son who is serving in the Army. He was deployed to Sadr City Iraq and he will be over there for 15 months. Our son, Tom just recently married before he deployed. His tour will be over in June 2009. I believe in this country and I believe in our freedom, but I fear the terrible things that these men and women will see. I pray for all the soldiers and their family's. However, it's so hard knowing the danger that not only my son faces, but all the men and women face day after day. I'm so proud of these men and women. I'm scared for them. Please include our son Tom, in your prayers.

Tom knew he wanted to be soldier from the time he was a little boy. Some how as a parent and knowing we were in a war, I was hoping that he would change his mind and go to college instead of joining the Army. However, he follows his dream and he is a soldier, and I'm so proud of him. As the parent of a soldier, I know I'm no different from the others, we worry all the time about their safety.

I think this web site is awesome. I know I'm not the only parent, but I'm excited to find out there is a support group for the loved ones.

Here is the most recent picture of my son from Iraq. He just finished building their shelter. On this particular day it was 105 degrees. I was so thankful when he sent this picture to me. I could see with my own eyes he was okay.

Thank You for Caring Jay
Sincerely, Susan Stockdale
